We compete in the Philadelphia CYO league
which is the largest youth cross country organization in the United States.

Registration Form

Cross Country
— is open to children in grades 3-8
— begins practice in August and competes through late October
— competes in six to seven meets held on Sunday afternoons
— competes at Belmont Plateau, Philadelphia
— runners compete in age & gender specific races
— practices four nights a week in various locations

— Distances range from 1.24 miles (2,000 kilometers) for the youngest competitors to 2.48 miles (4,000 kilometers) for our “Cadets.”
As many as 160 runners compete in each race.

Our practices are fun, but demanding. We focus on helping our children improve as runners and individuals within the team environment. Our goal is to build self-confidence and concern for others, while fostering a lifelong commitment to fitness. Our team participates in various community service projects including the Archdiocesan Food Bank.

Cross Country is not compatible with football. Cross Country is compatible with Fall Soccer, BUT parents are strongly encouraged to coordinate with and among soccer and cross country coaches to make sure that a child can maintain their commitment to each sport and team without overextending or hurting themselves.
