Mrs. Matteo’s Retirement Letter

February 2, 2022

Dear Saint Andrew Catholic School Families,

After 31 wonderful years, I have made the difficult decision to retire in June.  I have spent almost half of my life here, and this is a bittersweet time.  I have loved working with the teachers, staff, administration, priests and parents but, most especially, the students.

I started as a second grade teacher in October of 1989.  I taught for eleven years:  four years at the old school and seven years in this building.  I was director of the preschool for one year at the former location of the old school on Sycamore Street.  I was principal for sixteen years.  I am finishing my third year as president.

I am looking forward to spending more time with my husband, mom, siblings, children and grandchildren.  I want to be able to help my son and daughter-in-law with Lulu and Sonny.  I cannot wait to be able to pick them up, drop them off and participate in their various activities.  I have so many fun projects planned.

Thank you so much for your faith in me over the years and for entrusting your precious gifts, your children, with our school.  I will miss them the most.  Please keep me in your prayers, as I will keep you in mine.  I leave Saint Andrew Catholic School in great hands.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Nancy K. Matteo

President
