Dear St. Andrew Parents,
I hope you had a great week! A huge thanks to Mrs. Wagner and all of our teachers and students for helping Terra Nova testing run so smoothly this week. As we look ahead, don’t forget to consider the Tre Fratelli Wednesday night, donating old sporting equipment, and the Feast of Saint Joseph next Saturday (learn more below). For more information on these events and others like the Mother/Son event and dress down day please look below.
Please note that due to updated guidelines and the desire to allow our children to participate in traditional Saint Andrew events, there will be some events where students and guests may be spaced closer than 3 feet. These events include Mass, the 8th Grade Play, and Living Stations. If this is a major concern for your child, please let your child’s homeroom teacher know, and we will work to find a solution for your child.
For Lent, the Parish is collecting donations of food electronically as part of an Archdiocese program. If you would like to donate, please click on this link.
Saint A tip of the week:
- Dress Code:
- On gym dress down days or street dress down days, students must wear tennis shoes. Flip-flops, slides, crocs, etc. are not acceptable under any circumstances.
- For winter gym uniforms, students must wear a Saint Andrew school sweatshirt.
- This includes spirit wear sweatshirts.
- This does not include CYO sweatshirts.
- Students may not wear other sweatshirts in the building as a “jacket.”
- Boys must wear black socks with their black dress shoes. They may be of a tennis shoe design if they are all black.
- Shoes should be properly worn, which means they are on all the way (heel not pushed down), and they are tied.
- Shirts should be tucked in, and sweaters should be worn in the building while we are in winter uniform.
- Girls are not permitted to wear nail polish, have tips, or wear make-up.
- As part of our expectation to be the best school in the area, we expect the students to follow the rules. We also expect our students to look their best. We have warned the students numerous times, and they should know the expectations. We do not want to give demerits and hope these little reminders help, but we have asked the teachers to begin issuing demerits when students are out of dress code as a reminder and a way to communicate with parents. If they receive 3 demerits they will be issued a detention.
- Thank you for your help in reminding your children that they are expected to follow the rules and dress code guidelines even if they do not like or agree with them.
Thanks for your continued support. Remember there is no school on Friday, March 18. Have a great weekend!
