Dear St. Andrew Parents,

Hope you had a great week!

Thank you to the families that attended the Feast of Saint Joseph this past weekend. It was great to see so many families and to gather together. Thank you to the Fathers’ Committee for putting on the event and for the money raised to support our students continuing their Catholic education in high school.

Congratulations to our 8th graders who now have had 4 great shows in the school play. What a great tradition for our school. It is great to see so many talented actors, actresses, tech and stage workers. Some of whom may never have known they had the talent and courage to perform. Thank you to Mrs. Thiers, Ms. Bilello, Mrs. Koch, Mrs. Malboeuf, Mrs. Wagner and the 8th grade parents who have dedicated so much time to the show and to our students! Please congratulate them when you see them and continue to keep them in your prayers for the last three shows!

Please help our Parish and School improve through your feedback by completing this Synod Parish Survey. Non-Parishioner and Non-Catholic parents can complete the survey too. It does take about 10 minutes, but it would be extremely helpful and your students can earn a Friday Street Clothes dress down pass and an IOU in your house. Please just print your completed survey confirmation page and send it in with your children. The survey ends April 4.

A message from Pope Francis:

“Today is the Feast of the Annunciation which commemorates the visit of the angel Gabriel to Mary, where he announces that she would give birth to Jesus. Pope Francis has asked that today as we remember how the angel Gabriel came to Mary as a representative of God, that we too are called to be present in the lives of those who are facing a daunting future. We pray that our prayers and donations bring comfort to those impacted by the war in Ukraine. Together let us pray the Hail Mary and ask our Holy Mother to bring comfort to our brothers and sisters in Ukraine whose futures are uncertain.”

Saint A tip of the week:

  • Saint Andrew Catholic School is one of the only elementary schools in the Commonwealth with a student-run bank. Students with an account at the First National Bank of Newtown can visit the bank on Wednesday mornings from 8:30-12PM. 7th and 8th grade students are student bank tellers. If you are interested in opening an account for your child, download the First National Bank of Newtown New Account Application and bring it to school. Your child may be featured as our next Banker of the Week! The bank will close for the year on Wednesday, May 18.

Next week is also the last week to order yearbooks and spirit day shirts. Have a great weekend!
