The “Gospel Message of the Week” is part of the Saint Andrew School and Religious Education Program curriculum. It is designed to encourage families to share and embrace the Gospel message. Families may discuss how this pertains to them personally, its impact on their relationship with God and their interactions with others. Discuss what you are going to do as a family to put this Gospel message into practice.
Please read the upcoming Sunday Gospel Reading and review the questions before attending Mass on the weekend. After attending Mass, please engage your family in a discussion and answer the following questions:
What is the message of this Gospel Reading?
What was the message of the homily regarding this Gospel?
How does this pertain to my life and how can I live this message?

Twenty-sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Gospel
Jesus said to the chief priests and elders of the people:
“What is your opinion?
A man had two sons.
He came to the first and said,
‘Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.’
He said in reply, ‘I will not,’
but afterwards changed his mind and went.
The man came to the other son and gave the same order.
He said in reply, ‘Yes, sir, ‘but did not go.
Which of the two did his father’s will?”
They answered, “The first.”
Jesus said to them, “Amen, I say to you,
tax collectors and prostitutes
are entering the kingdom of God before you.
When John came to you in the way of righteousness,
you did not believe him;
but tax collectors and prostitutes did.
Yet even when you saw that,
you did not later change your minds and believe him.”
