Friday News March 22, 2024

Dear St. Andrew Families,

I hope you all had a great week! Today started with a little excitement and a car fire in our parking lot. Thankfully, all are safe! We would like to thank our first responders for their quick actions and what they do every day to keep us safe. I also want to thank our excellent team for jumping in to help in many other ways while preparing for our play and Kindergarten Donuts with Dad. Also, thank you to all of you who had to wait a little longer in the car line today! We have the best community!

I want to recognize our 8th grade students for their preparation, work, and excellent production of Mary Poppins Jr. this week! As we prepare for Holy Week, we are looking forward to our 7th graders performing our Living Stations production. We know they will leave a lasting impression on our students and staff. They will know that Jesus died for our sins and has risen. We will not have a Friday News next week, but we will pray that you all have a great Easter Break and remember the reason we are off from school.

Please note that Wednesday is a half day with a 12pm dismissal, and there is no CARES that afternoon. Dismissal for Preschool and Kindergarten with no siblings will start at 11:30. We will return to school on Wednesday, April 3, and will begin our summer uniform on that day. It is still ok for students to remain in Winter Uniform they just now have the option of either.

Don’t forget to check out the new school information below and repeat information to see calendar changes, scholarship opportunities, Hershey discount tickets, etc.

Have a Blessed Holy Week and a Happy Easter! Please listen to Monsignor’s Easter message.

Repeat School Information

  • 2024-2025 School Calendar
    • There are two small updates to our calendar for next year from the previous tentative version that had been posted. Election Day (Tuesday, November 5) is now a half day instead of a full day, and the holiday on 3/21 will now be on 3/17 due to the Terra Nova testing being pushed back next year. This day off is not specifically to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day and adds a break in between Presidents’ Day and Easter.
  • Calendar Change/Pastor Holiday
    • To celebrate Monsignor Picard, there will be a few changes to our calendar this school year. We will have three upcoming pastor holidays which are days off from school: Tuesday April 2, Friday May 24, and Thursday June 6. The last day of school will now be Wednesday June 5 with an early dismissal (12pm) that day. Eighth grade graduation will still take place on Wednesday June 5. In addition to these days off from school, we will have a celebratory event and/or Mass at school to recognize Monsignor sometime in May and he will provide the students with an ice cream truck.  As soon as we have these details, we will be sure to share them. It is Monsignor’s and our hope that these few extra days will allow you to reflect on Easter, enjoy time with your family, and start your summer just a little earlier! Please join us in praying for Monsignor Picard in his next journey and for his prayer intention for our Saint Andrew community in this upcoming transition.
  • A reminder that there is no afternoon CARES on our remaining early dismissal days of the school year: Wednesday, 3/27 and Wednesday, 6/05 (the last day of school).
  • Personnel Opportunities
    • With the growing preschool, we need at least one full-time preschool assistant for next school year. We also likely will be looking for part-time help for our preschool lunch, help during recess, and CARES for next school year. If you are interested in either position or know someone that is please have them email Mr. Fasullo at
