Friday News May 3, 2024

Dear St. Andrew Families,

I hope you had a great week and enjoyed the summer-like weather!

We enjoyed seeing our third grade students represent influential American figures this past week in our annual Patriotic Show. Through their portrayals, they showed us what it means to live out our human dignity in this country. God bless America!

Pope Francis’ monthly prayer intention for the month of May is for the formation of religious and seminarians. We prayed for this intention through a school-wide praying of the Rosary in each religion class on Wednesday, May 1. Thank you to NJHS and Mrs. Koch for their work on organizing this powerful prayer effort!

Our prayers have also recently been focused on our second grade students who will be receiving their First Communion this weekend. We pray for them as they take this important step in their faith lives and are nourished by the Bread of Life.

We look forward to seeing all of our families in grades 1-8 on Tuesday evening for our May Procession! This is the one evening event that we ask all of those 1-8 families to really make a commitment to our school and Church. We ask if you are choosing between practice, games, or other events and the May Procession, you teach your children a valuable lesson and choose the Church. More May Procession information is below.

Blessed first Friday of the month. Have a great weekend!

Repeat School Information

  • 2024-2025 School Calendar

    • There are two small updates to our calendar for next year from the previous tentative version that had been posted. Election Day (Tuesday, November 5) is now a half day instead of a full day, and the holiday on 3/21 will now be on 3/17 due to the Terra Nova testing being pushed back next year. This day off is not specifically to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day and adds a break in between Presidents’ Day and Easter.

  • Calendar Change/Pastor Holiday

    • To celebrate Monsignor Picard, there will be a few changes to our calendar this school year. The last day of school will now be Wednesday June 5 with an early dismissal (12pm) that day. Eighth grade graduation will still take place on Wednesday June 5. In addition to these days off from school, we will have a celebratory event and/or Mass at school to recognize Monsignor sometime in May and he will provide the students with an ice cream truck.  As soon as we have these details, we will be sure to share them.

  • Annual Art Gallery Walk May 20, 2024

  • Trenton Thunder St. Andrew Mother Son Outing

    • Be the MVP and bring your son out to the annual SAS Mother Son event at The Trenton Thunder Baseball game on June 7th @ 7:00pm. There is no better way to kick off summer break; we hope to see you there!!

  • This summer we are looking to renovate our Library. We are thankful for our Crusader Dash (see sponsorship form) and the Moms’ Booster Club and our Home and School Association for committing money to this project. If you are considering ways to give back and would consider making a donation to this project outside what you would like to commit to the Crusader Dash, please email Mr. Sikora directly at

  • EITC Tuition Assistance information. The qualifying rate has increased for all family sizes. There also have been some changes to increase requirements if any of your children here or at another school have a valid IEP. Click here for more information.
