Friday News – Last Day of School June 5, 2024

Dear St. Andrew Families,

Happy start of summer vacation! Please pray for our 8th graders as they graduate tonight and begin their transition to high school. 

 

If you will use bussing next year please make sure you follow the directions sent home via email on Monday and now available on our website. If you miss deadlines your children will not receive bussing to start next school year! 

 

If you will use CARES next school year please be on the lookout for the registration email that will be emailed tomorrow. Returning the form by June 24th will help us to hire and plan ahead. Payments should be sent in on the first day of school. 

 

I want to thank all of you for entrusting your children to Saint Andrew and a Catholic Education. If your child is graduating or not returning please know we wish you all the best and if you ever need anything we are only an email or phone call away. We are truly blessed to work and be part of the Saint Andrew School Community. Thank you for your support! 

 

Last but not least please keep our staff and especially Monsignor Picard in your prayers as he transitions to his new role!

    • Monday-Thursday 9-3PM throughout the summer except we are closed the week of July 4th.

  • Please visit our website for summer reading lists, summer math packets, and supply lists. For our rising 1st-8th grade students, we are offering the SchoolKidz supply kit program again for the 2024-2025 school year. This opportunity allows you to purchase custom school supply boxes filled with the exact items requested by your child’s teacher. You may order your supplies online with SchoolKidz at www.shopttkits.com with account number 91949. Please see the School Supply Kit Order Form. All orders for the 2024-2025 school year are due June 14, 2024.

  • Ambassador Families
    • We are in need of families who would like to become an Ambassador to our new families coming to St. Andrew this fall. You will be sent a list of new families, and we would love for you to communicate with them throughout the summer to answer any questions they may have and maybe even meet for Rita’s. Our New Family Playground Event and Uniform Swap will be held on August 14 from 4-6PM, and we have our New Family Welcome for Grades 1-8 on August 28 from 5:30-7:30PM. We would love our Ambassador families to attend both events if possible. Our new families are so thankful for this program. Please email Erica Heine at eheine@standrewcec.com if interested. 
  • New next school year! The St. Andrew Moms’ Booster Club will be offering an additional Family Spirit Wear Sale (limited to shorts and tees) for the 2024-2025 school year. This sale will take place online from 8/14 – 8/16. Be on the lookout for more information!
  • 2024-2025 Homeroom Parent Interest Form 
    • Some roles and responsibilities of Homeroom Parents include: sharing information with class parents via email in a timely manner; planning, attending, and chaperoning grade level socials; assisting teachers with grade level celebrations; organizing classroom holiday parties; and collecting for various fundraisers throughout the year. As the new school year begins, teachers will reach out to parents who have indicated they are interested in this position. Two parents will be selected for each homeroom. You must have all clearances to be a homeroom parent. 
  • Personnel News
    • Mrs. Amanda Ritzke, 6th grade teacher, will not be returning next year. She and her husband will be moving to Delaware this summer. We wish her the best moving forward.
  • Library Renovation Funding
    • In great news regarding the library, we have slightly exceeded our fundraising goal for the Library Project in pledges. A special thank you to all who donated and especially to our Home and School and Moms’ Booster Club who have committed $40,000 dollars to the project. If there are any remaining funds after the project is completed, we will earmark them for future Library needs. Thank you!
  • Aramark Lunch Account Balances
  • Please take a moment to read about the Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools (BLOCS) program, which through the EITC helps provide eligible families in the Philadelphia region with private or faith-based education. Through a two-year commitment, as an individual or as a company, you have the opportunity to make a donation to schools and receive up to a 90% tax credit against your personal PA state tax liability by making your gift through BLOCS.
  • EITC Tuition Assistance information. The qualifying rate has increased for all family sizes. There also have been some changes to increase requirements if any of your children here or at another school have a valid IEP. Click here for more information. 
  • Saint Andrew Part-time Rectory Cook Needed
    • The Rectory is looking for a part-time cook. The hours are Monday through Friday, 1:30 PM – 6:30 PM. Duties include shopping, preparing and serving meals. If you are interested or know anyone please have them contact Colleen Carroll at 215-968-2262, ext. 11.
