June 2024 News / Important Information

Dear St. Andrew Families,

I hope your summer has started off with some great family time, and memories have already been made. A few important reminders below.

If you will use bussing next year, please make sure you follow the directions sent home via email earlier this month and available here on our website. Some district deadlines are next week. If you miss deadlines, your children will not receive bussing to start next school year.

If you have not already done so please check out and save a PDF of your child’s report card for your files. FACTS will turn off the morning of June 28 as we transition to next school year. FACTS will reopen at some point in August. When it opens, we will send out a notice to all families. It will probably be a little later than it has in years past to help us with enrolling new students, any late teacher changes, and class placements.

If you will use CARES next school year, a C.A.R.E.S. Registration Form must be completed for each child. Please return the form by dropping it off at the school during summer office hours or emailing it to Dana Demsko at ddemsko@standrewcec.comby Monday, June 24. Registration fee payments (cash or checks made out to St. Andrew C.A.R.E.S.), in the form of one payment if registering more than one child, should be sent in to the front office on the first day your child starts school.

What is EITC? EITC is another way to give back to Catholic school through taxes you already pay to Pennsylvania. It can come from your personal taxes or taxes you pay as a business owner (or from the sale of a business). This credit is used to pay student tuition for those that have a need and qualify. Contrary to what some say, it does not take away money from public schools, and you can choose which Catholic school(s) receive your credit. Last year we gave just over $250,000 in student tuition to families in need. However, even if you are not choosing Saint Andrew or you are splitting your funds amongst multiple schools, it is a great way to give back. How often do you get to tell the government where you want your taxes directed? There are many organizations that can help facilitate this, and your accountant should also be aware of the program. Most of our families work with BLOCS or the Foundation for Catholic Education who have shared information and links below. If you want to reach out directly with either of these organizations, I can put you in contact. Also, if you are interested in giving in this manner but want to connect with a parent that has gone through the process, please email me back, and I will connect you.

We want to extend a warm welcome to Monsignor Lawrence who began his work as Pastor at Saint Andrew this week. Please continue to pray for him and Monsignor Picard as they transition.

Please check out notes below including our last newspaper, the mustard seed, summer reading lists, graduating students Google drive deletion, and more.

We will send out at least one other summer news in July. Have a great summer vacation!
