COUNCIL ROCK SCHOOL DISTRICT TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT
As this school year is wrapping up, we are preparing for the start of the 2023-2024 school year. The District will make every effort to provide the most efficient transportation for students. In working towards this efficiency, students may be required to ride a vehicle that transports students to and from various schools, including Council Rock Public Schools. They may also be required to transfer from one vehicle to another.
Students must be visible and outside at their designated bus stop a minimum of five minutes prior to their scheduled pickup time. Buses that arrive within that five minute window are not required to wait.
New Students or Change of Address – For all new students or students that have changed addresses since last receiving transportation, we will need four (4) proofs of residency in order to provide transportation. Click here for a list of common forms of proofs. Proofs should be received by June 30, 2023 (we will accept early submissions© ).
Ridership/Communication – In an effort to better service students who truly rely on transportation, we have created a Google Form for families. This form will take the received parent information and input it into our communication software {Blackboard) so we can send text/emails as well assist Durham with contact information for their bus tracking app rollout. Families MUST complete this form by 6/30/23 to be routed for the upcoming school year. Failure to do so will result in students waiting until after the blackout period, 8/21/23 to 9/15/23, to be added to a route. Google Form: https://forms.gle/VmgswAQTVxDS1Zi87
Kindergarten/ 1st Grade Transportation Ride Tag
Kindergarten, first grade and special needs students must be met at the bus stop by a parent, guardian, responsible adult or responsible older sibling or other designated individual. Parents are asked to place nametags on kindergarten and 1st grade students. The nametag should be attached in a clearly visible fashion to the child’s backpack… The tag should include the child’s name, address, bus number, bus stop location, and a telephone number where parents can be contacted at dismissal time.
Inclement Weather – If CR is closed, no transportation will be provided. If CR has a two-hour delay, all bus stop times will be 2 hours after the scheduled time. If CR has a delay and your school does not, every effort will be made to provide transportation at the appropriate time for your school.
On Call Stops -Any bus stop not utilized for more than 2 weeks (no students using the stop) will be deemed inactive and the bus will not stop there regularly. We understand that students have very busy schedules and are involved in activities and may not utilize the bus, but to provide accurate times we can place students as “On Call” and if the student(s) wish to use the stop again, please email Transportation@crsd.org.
Bus Tracking App: Durham will provide a bus tracking app for the 23/24 school year. Additional details on functionality and accessibility will be provided as they become available. The app may not be available immediately depending on technical details relating to the software however it will be available as soon as possible.
Lost Items – If you have a student that left an item on a bus, please reach out to Durham directly: Durham – 267-523-2701, ext. 1
If you have any questions, please give us a call at (215) 944-1010 or email us at transportation@crsd.org.
