S.A.G.E. Volunteers

Senior residents are an often untapped resource in a community. With a lifetime of experience – and the time to share it –the senior community can make an enormous impact in our schools.

S.A.G.E.™ matches community members, aged 55 and better, with exciting volunteer opportunities within their local school district.   Volunteers choose from weekly positions, one-time events and specialized extracurricular activities. Through these educational collaborations, S.A.G.E. helps to bridge the generation gap which provides both seniors and students new perspectives, building cohesive and stronger communities.

S.A.G.E. has a dynamic volunteer corps that reaches over 5,000 students annually in Council Rock, Bensalem, Hatboro-Horsham, New Hope Solebury and Saint Andrew Catholic School.

S.A.G.E. volunteers help in classrooms throughout the school at every level. Volunteers give one hour or more per week. Volunteering can also take the form of an occasional experience: helping students with an oral history project, helping with a veteran’s history project, speaking at career days as well as assemblies and others.
