Our computer lab is equipped with internet connected HP / Compaq Dual Core processor computers, numerous printers, scanners, a Smart board, and Apple TV. We have full internet capabilities from Verizon FIOS at 1GB speed and Wi-Fi which is securely managed by Dell Sonic Firewall.
Students use computers in the computer lab once a week. In addition, the students in fifth through eighth grade use Chromebooks on a 1:1 basis. There are Chromebook, laptop and iPad mobile carts for teachers to sign out and use as well. Every teacher has a PC and a printer in his/her classroom. Every classroom within the school has an interactive whiteboard and Wi-Fi for the teachers to integrate technology into the curriculum.
All students learn about internet safety and digital citizenship, keyboarding, Microsoft Office and computer programming. Kindergarten through fourth grades focus on word processing, keyboarding skills and internet search. Fifth through eighth grades focus on computer science skills; such as audio, video, graphic design, computer programming and Excel. Teachers collaborate to integrate other subject matters with technology and to create project based learning. Our curriculum is based on the National Education Technology Standards of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).
